Comment: Tryphosa was the first of all girls (πρώτη παρθένων) to win the stadion-race at the Pythia (twice) and at the Isthmia in a row. For the date, cf. Farrington (2012), 138 note 424, based on the source F.Delphes 3(1) 534 mentioning the agonothete Iuventius Proclus. Also gives two Pythian victories (in a row) and victories for other female athletes. An article by Lee in Nikephoros (1988), pp. 103-118 discusses the inscription (in which also the athletic/musical victories of her two sisters are listed) and scrutinizes the question whether Tryphosa and her sisters competed against men or performed in all-female contests. - PK/CT
