Comment: | The source, Corinth 8.1 15 (a victory list) is dated to 137 A.D. by reference to Lucius (Aelius) Caesar, who was adopted in 136 A.D. by Hadrian and died in 138 A.D., 137 A.D. was thus the only fitting Isthmiad, cf. Farrington (2012), 149 note 496. Contest place is not mentioned, but Farrington (2012), 25 explains that it is likely that from Nero onward the Isthmian games were held at the Poseidon sanctuary. - PK |
