Comment: I generally follow Farrington (2012), no. 1.57 and p. 118 notes 275-6 for the dating. Mentioned by Pausanias (in 6.8.5 as well as 7.26.5-6 (rather than 7.26.2 as Farrington suggests)) as a pankratiatist, with an Olympian, three Isthmian and two Nemean victories. Farrington based his dating off of Moretti's (1957), no. 355 suggestion for dating the Olympian victory to 404 B.C. and Promachos' military career to the battle of Nemea in 394 B.C. - PK Based on his Olympic victory in 404 and his military career to the battle of Nemea in 394 B.C.E., Promachus' Nemean victories could have taken place in 405 and 403 BCE respectively, even though previous and later dates are not excluded. - EK
