Comment: Paus. 6.12.7 mentions a family of charioteers, three generations to be precise: the 'grandfather' and 'son' were both named Theochrestos and won in the Olympics, but the father - the middle generation - remains unnamed, who won at Isthmia. Farrington (2012), no. 1.72 and p. 124 note 300 estimates him to have been active between 335 and 320 B.C., based off of Moretti (1957) no. 508 estimating Theochrestos II (the son) to have won ca. 300 B.C. - PK SEG 9.77 (=SEG 26.1831 = SEG 29.1673 = SEG 38.1892) record a certain Mnasarchos, son of Theochrestos, who was a strategos, and identify him as the father mentioned by Pausanias. However, Moretti is correct to note that Theochrestos is quite a common name in Kyrene, so we cannot be certain. [DvdL]
