Comment: 'Crowned by Delphi.' Dating based upon Farrington (2012), 138 note 422, from the assumption that Heras was a contemporary of the poet of Anth. Gr. 16.52, viz. Philippos of Thessalonike. Whether Heras was actually an Isthmian victor, is tentative: the poem gives a victory at Corinth grouped in one line with games of the periodos, from which it is assumed the poet means the Isthmian games, rather than another local competition. This goes for all contests: only the contest place is given. Age group is not given; it is said he is a 'pammachos', which Farrington interprets as a pankratiatist. The poet suggests that Heras' other victories are as numerous as the sands of Libya. - PK
