The athlete was still a pais in 85 A.D., but an aner in 86 A.D., cf. Farrington (2012), p. 142 note 453 - Farrington therefore argues that he won the Balbillea in its first iteration in 85 A.D. as a pais. He won as an aner at the next iteration.
Dates and origin taken from Farrington (2012), 62 and 142 note 453. The dating is based on the presumed chronology of Artemidoros' career, which can be reconstructed from his mentioning of age categories and references to the first Capitolia and the Balbillea at Ephesus (I.Napoli 50 = IG XIV 746 = IAG 67); it is therefore possible to give some more exact dates for some of his victories, in which I have also followed Farrington above. The source gives a great many victories. - PK
