Pausanias only records Xenarches' victory took place after the Persian invasions. According to Moretti, there is no space for a tethrippon-victory in the 5th c. BC in his list of victors, he proposes the 98th Olympiad the first possible Olympiad after the Persian invasion. We may stretch the possible date range to the end of the 4th century BC. Moretti, indeed, reconsiders his statement as Xenarches could also have won not with the quadriga, but for example with the courser, since Pausanias does not explicitly state in which horse race Xenarches had won - opening 428 BC as a possible date.
