Comment: Pausanias saw a statue group of Xenombrotos together with a Xenodikos, which Moretti 1957, no. 340 thinks is his son (Moretti 1957, no. 363). Their victories are recorded, though their statues are made by different artists: the one of Xenombrotos by an otherwise unknown sculptor, Philotimos of Aegina; the one of Xenodikos by Pantias of Chios. IvO 170 however only records a victory of Xenombrotos and is dated to around the mid-4th century BC. Maybe this inscription concerns another victory. The sculptor of Pantias of Chios gives an approximate date for both victories: late 5th century BC. Moretti suggests the 90th Olympiad (= 420 BC).
