Place name based on the statement that the athlete won the periodos in the periodos twice (ἀν]δρῶν δόλιχον τὰν περίο[δον ἐν τᾷ] / περιόδῳ δὶς). Lines 12-15 of the inscription indicate that he won the Isthmia even a third time, and was the first of all to do so. This is entry 1/3.
This first victory at the Isthmia is special for another reason. Lins 12-13 reveal that he was the only one of all times to be victorious as none of the other athletes wanted to compete against him (Ἴσθμια ἄνδρας δόλιχον μόνος ἀπολαβὼν ἀπ’ αἰῶνος / διὰ τὸ μηδένα θελῆσαι τῶν ἀνταγωνιστῶν ἀγωνίσασθαι).
