| Comment: | Inscription IG VII 49 mentions 'Pythia in Magnesia'. In Asia Minor two places with the name 'Magnesia' are known: Magnesia ad Sipylum and Magnesia ad Meandrum. However, according to Pleiades, only Magnesia ad Sipylum is also called 'Magnesia' during the third century. Therefore this city is interpreted as Magnesia ad Sipylum. |
