| Comment: | Moretti (1957), no. 510 notes that the inscription (IG V.1 649) may date to the 4th century BC. Commentary on IG V.1 649 itself suggests 3rd century BC. Moretti also adds that Eubalkes may have been the name of a festival at Sparta. Another name legible in the inscription, Diares, may then have been victory at this festival and at the Olympia.
