| Comment: | Moretti (1957) expresses some doubts and difficulties in reading [Ἀρ]κὰς ἐκ Κ{α}λειτο<ρίου>. He does not indicate Kleitor as certain place of origin (1957). However, later he states that the ethnic group of Myrkeus could really be [Άρ]κάς εκ Κ<α>?.ειτο<ρίον> is made very probable by the insistence with which the inhabitants of Kleitor insisted on distinguishing themselves from the other Arcadians (1970), as seen in e.g. Caertringen, IG V2 p. 85 and Pugliese Carratello, ASAA 39-40 (1961-1962), p. 279. |
