Comment: | Pausanias (6.17.6) notes the end of the epigram which tells us Eperastos was a member of the Klytidai, a famous family of soothsayers. Because Eperastos is mentioned in the same sentence with Archidamos from Elis (ID 1120 in this database, victorious at the 121st Olympiad, 296 BC), Moretti suspects their victories to be close in time. Hence, his suggestion for the 122nd Olympiad for Eperastos' victory. [DvdL] |
