Comment: | Attalos was the adoptive son of Philetairos. For extensive discussion of the inscription including the date of Attalos' victory (I.Pergamon 10), see IAG 37. Moretti (1957), no. 538 suggests the victory took place at the 126th Olympiad (= 276 BC). Possibly Diogenes Laertius (4.6.30) made a reference to this victor. [DvdL] |
