Comment: | Introduction of pankration at Olympic games; Lygdamis was the first victor. Lygdamis was compared to Herakles of Thebes (Pausanias). Eusebius (and Iulius Africanus ) and Philostratos all comment on the legendary size of his feet. His tomb was situated in Syrcause near the quarries (Pausanias). |
