| Comment: | King of Sparta. Herodotos informs us about Damaratos' Olympic victory. Moretti gives Damaratos' period of reign as ca. 510-491 BC. Because Moretti thinks most other victories in tethrippon are fairly securely dated for this period, one of the few possible dates left is the 69th Olympiad (= 504 BC). It remains only suggestive. |
