| Comment: | Pi. O. 6 l. 94, the ode praising Hagesias' victory, mentions that Hieron (entry no. 165) was ruling over Syracuse at the time. This was true for the period between 478 and 467 BC. Taking into account Pindar's journey to Syracuse, Moretti 1957, no. 248 suggests the victory must have taken place either at the 77th or the 78th Olympiad (472 or 468 BC), but prefers the latter. |
