| Comment: | Pliny the Elder does not clarify which Echekratidas, member of the family of the Echekratidai, won an Olympic victory with a pregnant horse.. Moretti 1957, no. 258 proposes the father of Orestes who escaped to Athens in 456 BC (Thuc. I.111). Hence, his suggestion of the 79th Olympiad (=464 BC). |
