| Comment: | Only a labda remains of the place of origin. It has been suggested Lyk(e)inos is from Sparta, because a Lykinos of Sparta is known to have won an Olympic victory in the chariot-race. Two statues made by Myron of Athens for this Lykinos were seen by Pausanias (6.2.1-2). They might have been erected for two victories; one hoplite-victory, the other a victory in the chariot-race. The idenfitication is not certain though, so they appear as separate entries (Moretti 1957, no. 324). Lykinos also might have been the father of Charmos (ID 494). |
