Comment: Aristeus was the son of another Olympic victor (entry no. 232). As his father's victory is dated to 448 BC, his victory was certainly later. According to Pausanias, their statues stood close to one another. Aristeus' statue was made by the sculptor Pantias of Chios. According to Moretti, this Pantias was active in the late 5th century BC. He suggests the 90th Olympiad (= 420 BC). Estimated date falls probably between 440 and 400 BC.
