Comment: Sotades was from Crete. But at his second Olympic victory(?)/participation he proclaimed himself as being from Ephesos, after he was bribed by the Ephesians. The Cretans banished him for it. He was remembered by the comedian Philetairos in his Atalante which is to be dated around 383 BC or shortly thereafter.
