Comment: | King of Macedonia. Plutarch mentions a victory with a racing-horse at the Olympia in the year of Alexander the Great's birth (356 BC). He also won chariot-races, the victories were celebrated on coins. The specific chariot-race remains problematic (synoris or harma). The dating of the coins give a clue to the victory dates, though not without uncertainty. Moretti 1957, nos. 439, 445 suggests the 107th and 108th Olympiads (= 352 and 348 BC). |
