| Comment: | Mentioned in Pindar's 4th Nemean ode, lines 79-88, as a maternal uncle of the ode's subject, Timasarchos - their family relationship is the basis for Farrington's assumption that Kallikles was from Aigina, like Timasarchos. I also follow Farrington (2012), no. 1.18 and p. 105 note 216 with regards to the dating, who based his information on the dating of the poem as well as the assumption from line 81 that Kallikles was deceased at the moment of writing. - PK |
