Comment: Chromios, son of Hagesidamas, the honorand of Pind. Nem. 1, is also the subject of Nem. 9, written for his chariot victory at the Sikyonian Pythia. Chromios was originally an associate of Hippocrates, tyrant of Gela, then of Gelon, tyrant of Syracuse, and finally of Hieron, brother of Gelon.
