| Comment: | Pausanias (6.16.8) mentions the victory and statue of Pyttalos. The sculptor was Sthennis from Olynthos. Moretti (1957), no. 476 notes that he probably lived from ca. 350-280 BC. Pyttalos' victory therefore probably took place some time during the last quarter of the fourth century BC and the first quarter of the third. Moretti suggests the 115th Olympiad (= 320 BC). [DvdL] |
