| Comment: | Eikasios was the grandson of Hermesianax, who was also victorious in the boys' wrestling-match at the Olympic games (Paus. 6.17.4; see ID 1076 in this database). As we have dated his victory in the second half of the 4th century BC (Moretti: 320 BC), we may suggest Eikasios' victory to have taken place around the mid-3rd century BC. Moretti (1957), no. 557 suggests the 131st Olympiad (= 256 BC). [DvdL] |
