| Comment: | The statue of Kalliteles appears on the same base with the small chariot of his son, Polypeithes. As many of the victors between 532 and 512 are known (mostly Milon), Moretti 1957, no. 149 contends that an earlier date would not fit. He therefore argues for a date after 512 BC, but not too late. He suggests the 68th Olympiad (= 508 BC). |
