The name Ἀριστομένης is lacking in the Greek manuscript of Eusebius and was supplied by Gutschmid on the basis of Pausanias 5.21.10 and the Armenian version, which gives the victor's name as Ἀριστοσηνης (see note 119 with Euseb. Chron. ll. 314-315 (ed. Christesen).
Eusebius and Iulius Africanus call Aristomenes the third after Herakles for winning pale and pankration at the same Olympia. Pausanias (5.21.10) lists him however as the second one; followed by Moretti (1957), no. 629-630. [DvdL]
