Comment: Pausanias (6.13.11) mentions the statue of Aristophon set up by the people of Athens. A tiny fragment (text heavily reconstructed) of the statue base may be IvO 169. The name Aristophon, son of Lysinos, also appears in IG II(2), 4397. Moretti suggests Aristophon won at the 117th Olympiad (= 312 BC), but without giving any arguments. IG II(2), 4397 is dated to the second half of the 4th century BC. [DvdL] Possible the comedy Pankratiastes by Alexis is based on this character (Moretti, 1992).
