The first part of the inscription (with the athlete's name, probably) is lost. As the inscription is found in Philoppopolis (modern Plovdiv), the city may be his place of origin.
Victorious 40 times as pankratiast, 9 times as wrester, under the training of Aurelius Theodoros from Kyme (Gouw). In total, 49 victories, of which the details are unknown.
Discipline:
The athlete also competed as boxer (l. 1: [πα]νκρατ̣ι̣ασ[τ]ή̣ς̣, [παλαιστής], the latter discipline is supplemented based on l. 5 of the inscription)
Events:
The inscription reads that the athlete 'has won in holy and iselastic games in the entire oikoumene, fourty in the pankration, nine as a wrestler ('νεικήσας ἀγῶνας / ἱεροὺς εἰσε/λαστικοὺς εἰς ἅπασαν τὴν οἰκου/μένην πανκρατίου μὲν τεσ[σα]/ράκοντα, πάλης δὲ ἐννέα', ll. 2-5). It is not specified where here won these games.
Other:
The last lines of the text name the athlete's trainer (ἐπιστάτης)m Aurelius Theodoros from Kuma (Κυμαῖος). This can the Cumae in Italy, but there is also a Kyme attested in Aeolis.
