Comment: The athlete's (or strictly speaking, dedicator's) name is no longer legible in the source, IG II(2) 3145, but Farrington (2012), 147 note 472 assures the reader that he has been 'identified' as Athenaios son of Alexandros who was prytanis of the Aiantis tribe mid 2nd century A.D. and kosmetes of the ephebes in 145-6 A.D. From that he also bases his dating, he assumes Athenaios was about 40 years old in 145-6 A.D. (with reference to Aristotle) and suggests that Athenaios' own athletic career might have been somewhere between 120-135 A.D. accordingly. The inscription mentions no discipline, nor contest places, only contest names. - PK
