Heliodoros was a xystarch of the games in Sparta specifically (ξυστάρχ[ην] / [τῶ]ν ἐν Λακεδαίμονι ἀγώνων, ll. 3-4).
Apart from the victories listed below, the inscription also reads that he won 36 festivals where a talent was the prize (καὶ ἄλλους / ἀγῶνας ταλαντιαίους λς’, ll. 16-17).
Place of origin is not in the inscription.
Heliodoros is one of the most well-traveled athletes from the Roman imperial period. He was made xystarch for multiple games in Sparta. In the third century AD his honourary monument was erected a second time, possibly by a descendant (Gouw). In total, 60 victories: Athens, Antioch (2), Alexandria, Smyrna, Rhodos, Pergamon, Ephesos (2), Neapolis, Puteoli (2), Argos, Corinth (2), Sparta (2), Thebe (2), Tralles (2), Tarsos (3), 36 crown games.
