Comment: | The name and place of origin of the man are lost in the inscription (Iscr. di Cos EV 222), but as the inscription is found in Kos, it is assumed by Farrington that the man came from the island. According to the same inscription, the man was awarded Roman citizenship by emperor Claudius himself. Given the 'pleistonikes'-title, the athlete must have won more than the games of the periodos, but the other victories are unknown. |
