Farrington note 590: 'The fact that Metrobios relegates his victory in the ἡ ἐξ Άργους ἀσπίς to the catalogue of apparently less important victories and seems not to include the Capitoline victory in the periodos suggests that he may have won in the all four games of the traditional periodos, including the Isthmia. See above, n. 9, on the status of the ἡ ἐξ Άργους ἀσπίς.'
He was the first of the people of Iasos to win the periodos in the dolichos (andres), and the first of men who won at the first edition of the Capitolia in Rome in 86 AD, for which he received Roman citizenship from emperor Domitianus. This was later rescinded in the damnatio memoria of Domitianus (Gouw).
His honorary citizenship in Rome is based on the fact that he has a Roman name, and has his tribe (Quirina) included in his name: Τίτος Φλάβιος Δ<η>μ<η>τρίου υἱὸς Κυρείνα Μητρόβιος (I.Iasos 108; similarly in I.Iasos 107 and 109)
I.Iasos 108 ends by saying that he also won 'at 120 other pentaeteric and trieteric festivals'. I.Iasos 109 indicates that Metrobios won at all Koina Asias-festivals (τὰ κοινὰ τῆς Ἀσίας / πάντα, ll. 10-11).
In total, 142 victories: Argos, Ephesos (3), Pergamon (3), Milete (2), Sardis (3), Athens (2), Sparta, Smyrna, Rhodos (2), Rome, Olympia, Delphi, Corinth; and 120 other victories.
