Comment: According to Farrington (2012) this athlete was probably active between circa AD 151-169. - YP His victories in Ephesos, Smyrna and Pergamon might have been the koina Asias, but the inscription does not specify. -PS Maron was the first ever periodoneikes teleios. During his career he remained undefeated in wrestling. Possibly, he was also active as a pankriatast and the same 'Halter' mentioned by Philostratos. Multiple sources name his small stature (Gouw). In total, 77+ victories: Olympia, Rome (2), Delphi (2), Corinth (3), Argos (4), Athens (5), Nikopolis, Neapolis (2), Puteoli, Rhodos, Antioch (3), Ephesos (2), Smyrna (2), Pergamon (3), Tarsos; 44 prize games.
